Goofy vs Regular

Ok,so one of the most discussed topics: goofy or regular? I myself am a goofy, so one point for them :D |
Believe it or not, but studies have been done on this subject & apparently most guys are regular & girls are usually goofy. I have spent idle moments in lift lines pondering this & it seems to be true. |
hmmm….well, I have looked over the stances of people in competitions, and it seems like about 75% of the people are regular and about 25% goofy. I ride goofy though |
And most of those people are male, because guys dominate comps. Unless of course you’re looking at a girl’s comp, like Roxy Chicken Jam. |
yes indeed. And the two main people I ride witha are goofy too |
well, doesn’t surprise me much you are All Goofy! |
well, I can ride switch as well as I ride goofy on groomed and powder, but I feel the difference when I hit jumps. Switch backside spins is where I feel it the most |
i’m regular. when i think about it, when i started snowboarding 4 years ago most of us were regular, but in the last 2 years i see much more goofy than before. |
I’m goofy too ,but I find it easier to do cab spins than FS spins, although switch airs and SWBS spins are f… hard for me:) |
i’m regular. the hardest difference is deffenitly switch rails. Spinning regular or switch is ok. maybe i’m not that good in switch but it’s ok to try. |
I’m goofy. hardest are switch bs landings in pow and doin’ handrails switch. |
jep. true words, pavli spoke.. |
I’m regular,I’ve tried goofy but I wasn’t able… but when i skate I’m goofy…and I don’t understand why… |
andreas190: maybe you’re ambidexterous.. |
Goofy |
doesn’t matter, except kickers – rather regular please :) |
yeah, centered mirror stance on a twin is the way to go.. usually tho, i’m on a directional twin and i love feeling that extra bit of longitudinal flex in the nose, coming down switch off a kicker |
yeah, I have had the exact same stance on every board I have ever owned. Its always 15 and -15 degrees on center with a width of 23.5 inches from center to center plate. |
Riding board with large setback on switch has it’s magic, actually I left my new board not completely centered… 0:) Do you feel like riding absolutely different style having the other leg down the hill too? I do, sometimes it’s even more comfortable riding switch. :)) |
yeah, its definitely more comfortable riding switch sometimes. I like it the best when I actually forget which way I ride naturally. |
surprise, surprise… GOOFY |
yeah for me it’s the same. as i hurt my left (back) knee its often very comfortable to ride switch because of the pain. |
Jasmin: yeah, I did that when I was an instructor also. I rode down the run switch early season dodging rocks and tree branches. And the only thing the instructor told me was that I needed to lean forward more or something. I think he just said that because he was giving advice to everyone. |
I find riding switch fun, but usually from obstacles. I can’t really get that 100% control feeling when coming to some rail, or on an in-run to a jump. I can always feel the difference when going regular or switch. |
i’m too generic to notice a difference =D |
