Hi everybody, long time no post :) Well I’ve got to admit my desire was fulfilled. I finally got to the mountains again (seems like a century since last time) and went snowboarding again. Man don’t know about you all, but even though I did exercise a bit before I still feel like a 10 ton truck ran over me after the first day of shredding. I mean is it ever harder to get out of bed, than the day after snowboarding? I don’t think so. Anyone know what I’m talking about? (And I hope not only the older ones will say yes, then I’d feel like a granny with and old and aching body:) )

i’ve been snowboarding the last 5 days too and of course i know what you mean. but i think i have to disappoint you: It seems to be dependend of the age. I remember five years ago i was snowboarding from 9 o’clock till 4 o’clock. After that going home and start trinking at approximately 6 o’clock and stopped in the morning. After 3 or 4 hours of sleeping the new day beginns with a bit of headache but i was in the park at 9 o’clock again.

Nowaday that seems to be impossible… even if i’m not party all night long i feel like dieing every morning…
so it seems as if we are getting older….

depends on terrain condition…

Rudi251007bandana_hirschenkogel_icon rockafella 414 post(s)

For me the terrain and it’s condition doesn’t matter, cause when i’m on my board i ride it 100%, doesn’t matter on what terrain. eg. just a bonk, a treerun, a small jib, a hard streetrail, a kicker or just slopes where you sprayin’ around. after a day on my board i’m completely destroyed as i allready mentioned…

Me_elan_tiny_icon Pav 387 post(s)

Yeah, even when I just ride the groomed slopes I still hurt after a lot. Hmm…damn, so age is the isssue? :,( well in that case, I’ve got some motivation for us: I have a friend he’s like 38, has 3 kids and does really stylish corked 7’s! so yeah when I’m 38 it would be cool to be in such shape to stick 7’s :) there is always hope. The body gets older, but the mind stays young and that’s what it’s about :))

Hmm. Well I know a lot of you have checked my profile & yeah it’s true, I’ll be 52 on Friday 11. (I have 3 sons Pav!)
So I gotta disappoint y’all & say I don’y hurt after riding, & I’m sorta manic; I often ride all day & then head over to do night riding at Boreal so I can play in their pipe.
I do pretty much ride year round so that has something to do with it.
And if I bust something it takes a long time to heal & that sure as heck is age.

if you mean sore muscles or “Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness”, that’s perfectly normal. But there’s simple soluttion to it too. I drink alot(2-3liters of liquid) after loooong day of riding and i’m totally fine next day.

Rudi251007bandana_hirschenkogel_icon rockafella 414 post(s)

yeah pavli i know what you mean if you’re talking about 2 or 3 litre…most of the time we met is in the bar :).
but you’re right. drinking is very important. but it’s not just the muscles. i feel every bone in my body cause of bails during the day. they don’t hurt a lot when you bail but they hurt like hell in the morning of the next day.

yeah…I have had this before. The worst I ever had it was when I went two weeks strait with only one day of breaking the whole time. On the 15th day I was going to go again, but I couldnt get out of bed. I was done for.

Alpsee_icon MaRiNuS 146 post(s)

don`t you know the saying an indianer knows no pain..hehe…when i bail i try to do it better the next run and everything is forgotten! But right, you regret it the next day when you get up in the morning! But praise the man who invented the ” Voltaren ” salve! Put it on your aching point before you go to bed and the next day will be a great day!

Rudi251007bandana_hirschenkogel_icon rockafella 414 post(s)

oh yeah voltaren is the good shit. but i have to use the pills for my knee. so voltaren is a basic food especially for breakfast for me :) sounds strange but is true :)

Me_elan_tiny_icon Pav 387 post(s)

LOL!!! breakfast? omg…drug addict! Gee, I wonder what you have for lunch, Ibuprofen? and dinner maybe vicodin followed by the dessert of morphine;) naw, I’m just kiddin, I usually also use some special muscle cream on my knee. It goes deep, so in the morning my knee doesn’t swell :)

to kiwi: Bowing down! wow..three boys and you still have enough energy to go and shred the Pipe. Wow..that is really awesome! I wish I would have at least half of your energy when I reach that age. From now on, I’ll use you as an example when I talk with my friends :)

Voltaren is nasty shit. I used to take vioxx (much the same thing)& now it’s outlawed bt the FDA. Neurontin too.
Muscle cream I believe in totally, especially the ones with ibuprofen in them.

Kirkwood_sky_icon Agent-G 474 post(s)

never even heard of Voltaren

Rudi251007bandana_hirschenkogel_icon rockafella 414 post(s)

voltaren is either a painkiller pill or a cream for swollen knees or smth. pretty good stuff.

Hehe..every morning before riding I stretch infront of the chairlift. I was doing this morning ritual with my friend (bright neon yellow outfit) and noticed that some holand family was just standing and staring at us like if we were some UFO’s. I’m surprised their jaw didn’t fall to the ground :D hehe.. is it really so “weird” to see people stretching before going to the park? :)

Fox_logo_icon cheshirefoxxx 340 post(s)

no it’s perfectly normal

Kirkwood_sky_icon Agent-G 474 post(s)

Usually people strech in the parking lot while they are getting suited up. Not really weird, its a smart idea for sure.

Fox_logo_icon cheshirefoxxx 340 post(s)

well i just stretched, exercised.. now it’s time for a jog in the rain =D

Me_elan_tiny_icon Pav 387 post(s)

jogging = hell for knees

Fox_logo_icon cheshirefoxxx 340 post(s)

mhm, n’ i say bring it on..

Kirkwood_sky_icon Agent-G 474 post(s)

Im all sore from quite a few consecutive hits, both snowboarding and raquetball related.

Kirkwood_sky_icon Agent-G 474 post(s)

okay, so today I went from the top of a 22 foot pipe to the flats onto my hip/ass…so yeah…I ended up making a much unwanted trip to the hospital

Me_elan_tiny_icon Pav 387 post(s)

Oh nooooo!!!!! are you ok? Whats the outcome? Will you be able to snowboard this season still, or did doc tell you to loosen up and rent a couple of movies…

Rudi251007bandana_hirschenkogel_icon rockafella 414 post(s)

oh shit. hope you’re allright….
