where do you go for spring riding? Dachstein? Hintertux? ...?

Looking 4ward to going to Dachstein!!
When does it open, Mai 10th I guess?

Hintertux is also nice but I prefer Dachstein, it’s closer and more obstacles :)

Burton Superpark Opening, Dachstein, 10.05.2008

There’s good news for everyone that is looking forward to the legendary spring season of the Burton
Superpark on Dachstein already. The most eastern glacierpark of the alps opens it’s gates three weeks
earlier than usually this spring – the Opening is sheduled for the 10.05.2008!

isn’t mammoth open until summer?

Mammoth trys to shoot for July 4th weekend until they close, but they dont always make it there. Last year they didnt, And I am not sure if they will this year either. They will atleast make it till the end of May though.

Its crazy how much everything dies down once spring is here. Spring is probably my favorite time of the year to ride. If people arent hearing about new snow, they arent coming up to the mountains. It is dead in Tahoe right now.

OMG….10th of MAY??!!! No way!! wooooo, think I’ll visit Dach for a few days. Then I have to do exams and then I’ll be there from 30.5 – 19.7 :D yay! see ya all there!!

‘bout Dachstein:is there a cheaper way to get year passes? We had it so far,’cause one of our friends applied for 200€ tickets as “national team”. What about discount for SNB teachers,etc? originally, tickets are about 350€,right?

as far as i know there are no discounts for snb or eaven ski teachers….yeah it’s expensive but i think 12 days or smth on dachstein and you’re ok with the season pass

I think you have to know the right people to get it for 200€, I don’t know them :(

yeah actually jasmin, that’s my party routine :) first Maria’s and then when you have a “better” mood, we go dancing hihi :D
as for the tickets: each country gets a certain amount. Here our snowboard server freeride.cz gets them and they give them only to very known sponsored riders which have season passes even to hintertux etc. – this sucks, since the sponsored riders have everything payed and have no expenses. They come only for like 5 days and that’s it. The others who have to save up money (like me) have to pay everything. But in my opinion we are the ones that deserve the cheaper tickets, since we really do ride there a lot. (and not 5 days). I told this to my friend and he told me, that it’s because the sponsored riders come always with photographers and make footage, which is them presented on freeride.cz. So that’s why… (at least that is the reason here in czech republic)

We re gettin it via federation. Pav, try getting a group of your friends, like 8 maybe ten, and ask for discount, it could work…

...yeah, that’s worth a try and would maybe work but I strongly doubt it…

I’m looking forward to the Opening so very much, I wanted to go to Kitzsteinhorn the coming weekend but weather won’t be good and I have to work on saturday…

so it’s the 5th week (!!) now without riding (just one day two weeks ago), I’m sitting at the uni library the whole day working for my studies to finish hopefully soon…

It’s really time now to start the summer season!!

to ninja: tnx for the idea, but I doubt it, since all the season cards go to freeride. There is a limit for each country and FR takes it all. Oh well..

Jasmin: yeah, tell me about it! I feel so LAZY!!!! I’m also sick now, so lying in bed (horrible for me) and my exam period is beginning. So at the end of may I’ll be very hyped for Dachstein!!
