I spent 3 months in Canada training for my CASI level 1 and 2 passed both really happy. At the beginning of the season I decided to treat myself to a new board I went for the Elan Pure in the size 160. I was not jumping of cliffs or hitting hand rails at all until the last week, I did not want to break myself before my level 2 test!!! Basically in the last week did my first rail and the board snapped in half underneath me I was barely on the rail for more than a foot!!! I took it back to the shop to hopefully get it back on warranty they sent it to Elan and have come back to me with… “The board’s warranty covers manufacturing defects. The board was not defective as such and will not be covered under their warranty terms.” I am sorry but a snowboard should not break after 2 and a half months of riding it??? Can anyone give me the Elan head office number/email or does anyone have any suggestions to what I should do. I really loved that board and was going to stick with Elan for the future but now I have my doubts.
Cheers Ben

hey ben.
Warranty depends on break or better on the way it was broken. Since you broke freeride board on a rail that’s similar to crashing new car (into something) and therefore I doubt, they would/will cover it. Could you attach some pics please?

Snapping a board on a rail is usually from impact damage. Impact damage is not covered under factory warrenty. It might be that it is a clean break, but if there are any spots on it that look like it was from impact, it wont be covered.

As stated. Pictures would be a great help.
